Our Story
The story of the Pallet Popper began when I tried to use my conventional carpentry tools to help my son salvage pallet wood.
After a lot of frustration, splintered boards, a sore back and knees, I decided there had to be a better way. Like most people, I did an internet search and found what appeared to be good ideas. Being a do-it-yourself-er, I naturally built a tool and tried it out. We soon found out that the “internet offerings” left a lot to be desired so….
BACK to the DRAWING BOARD!
The first goal was to make the tool slim enough to fit between most pallet board spacing and yet strong enough for long service.
The second goal was to improve the geometry of how the popper lifted the boards so the boards were as useable as possible.
The third goal we set was to easily be able to remove the stubborn nails without having to waste time to pick up a second tool. We needed a built in nail puller.
WE DID IT!
Now we share our Pallet Popper with you!
This background note is not in reference to a testimonial, but a thank you to my daughter, son in law, and their family. They are the ones that have pushed grampa to get proper labels, tags, color schemes, display stands, and yes, pushed the old guy into the 21st century where there are web sites! (Who knew?) They are also the ones that were instrumental in the logo design that has gotten so many compliments.
Perhaps most significantly, they are responsible for seeing that the Popper was useful around the yard, way beyond dealing with the inevitable pallets that find their way to the farm. To them goes the credit for pushing for the features that turned into the popular Homesteader Popper.
And, last but certainly not least, they are directly or indirectly responsible for the great photos, videos, and for supplying the great models seen in the same.
THANK YOU!
